VEEN IN CHEZ DOMINIQUE
Chez Dominique in Helsinki is one of our first clients for two star reasons: Hans & Mika. Chez Dominique has been awarded with two Michelin stars. Well earned stars one might add, since it has taken years of dedicated work and hard earned skills to achieve them!
Mika Mattila, the sommelier of Chez Dominique, met Tomi Grönfors from VEEN for the first time when Tomi came over for some VEEN tasting. The pristine VEEN spring water sample was packed in a plastic bottle, since the award winning “Wave 66” bottle was still under development. Regardless of this, Mika said “Great water, finally Finnish!” Since then the feedback from the demanding clientele at Chez Dominique has been extremely positive. Especially the size of the bubble in the Effervescent has been raved.
Chez Dominique was ranked no 39 in 2008 for the “World's 50 Best Restaurants”. There is only one two Michelin star restaurant in Sweden and four in New York, so it is a magnificent achievement. The design of the new restaurant supports their abstract concept of multisensorial pleasures, where our senses are studied as neuron grids. The focus is on mouthfeel, physical taste, taste- and scent memory, harmony and contrast, cultural structures, emotions, crossover communications, simultaneity and cybernetics. Oh yes, and the food tastes great also!
